About Us

The Washington Journal of Social & Environmental Justice publishes legal scholarship examining how communities interact with each other and the environment with the goal of advancing justice and advocating for positive change. Adhering to principles of equity, diversity, and representation, the Journal engages in critical analysis of the legal system to amplify the concerns and voices of those most affected by injustice. This mission will be achieved through the collaboration of Journal staff, authors, the greater Washington legal community, and impacted groups.

The Journal began in 2009 as the Washington Journal of Environmental Law & Policy. 2024 marks the third year of publishing under our new mission and title.
